Management System Standards Division (MSSD)

Brief History of Division:
The Management System Standards is divided into three components;
- Management System Standards Division (MSSD)
- Environmental Management Division
- Health Safety Mangement Division
One component of MSS Division (Environmental Management Division) is functional since 2014 wherein only Environmental standards were being dealt. However, the two components are functional since last five years.
The MSSD has directly adopted 38 ISO Standards as Pakistan Standards so far.
Scope of MSS Division:
The Management System Standards Division (MSSD), under Standards Development Centre (SDC) of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), aims to foster and promote Standardization in the field of Management System Standards (MSS) by keeping in view the national needs and priorities. Overall, the MSS set out requirements or guidance to help organizations manage their policies and processes to achieve specific objectives. The MSS are designed to be applicable across all economic sectors, various types and sizes of organizations and diverse geographical, cultural and social conditions. The MSS enable organizations to define their corporate responsibility and thus devise strategies to enhance their contribution to sustainable development.

National Standards Committee on Management System Standards (NSC-MSS)
The main function of NSC-MSS is to formulate the national standards in the field of Management System Standards (MSS), to set up technical committee with define scope for formulation/adoption of standards as Pakistan standards, to approve proposals for work, advise matters relating to R&D and provide guidance and framework to all types of organizations, regardless of their type, size, activity or location, as well as to study the work of international organizations in standard formulation as related to the area of work of the national standards.
